unit 8: assignment 2

Task 1 assignment 2 Who’s who?

Where would I go to find extra information and key terms about job opportunities and recruitment in media?

Careers advice
Careers advice is a person who gives you helpful advice and specific information about the job to see if you are interested in the job or help you decide which job in the media is right for you, a careers adviser is specially trained to work with the public and help you find the perfect job that suits you best, that you are happy with. Careers adviser will give you a list of jobs roles in your specific sector and then gives brief summary of what the job involves and helps show you what jobs roles could possibly be yours, the job roles range due to your skill, qualifications and the location, careers adviser will help you create a CV that stands out from the rest as well as helping you achieve your dream job.
In Bexley you could go to Bexley College for Careers guidance, you may want to London borough Bexley for local Careers advice or Adult Education College Bexley Advice & Guidance.

Currier's fairs
Currier's fairs is an exhibition to show off different companies job roles to people who are looking for employment, this benefits the companies and the public as it offers a new recruitment and new opportunities for the public to get jobs, this can also change a person’s view on the job as they may find something even better that they prefer, trade fairs offer a wide range of job roles and employment opportunities, Currier fairs are stalls that allow people to visit, learn about the job and collect a few handouts for extra information about the job, this also shows the public what roles are on offer and if the person waiting to be recruited has the right qualifications then they could be looking at their next job, Universities also hold careers fairs for their current and recently graduated students to help support them in the future.

National press and trade press are types of papers that you can read except national press advertise job roles and events in the newspaper that you can attend to seek further advice on your careers, where as trade press are publications directed to people looking for a job in a certain category, this also provides details about the job to show you what’s on offer and help you decide whether its right for you.

Personal contacts are communication through network devices to another person, you can get personal contact numbers or e-mail from a company you wish to work for and have a discussion over the phone or ask them to email you details about the job what they are looking for, what jobs are available and what you need to qualify for the job.

Word of mouth is direct communication from one person to another, you can ask and talk face to face with an employer or an employee and ask for the details and job description and what you will have to do and to see if you are really interested in the job or have second thoughts. Word of mouth is reliable a resource as it is information from someone who has worked and has experience in the media industry in a specific unit.

The Internet offer a whole world range of jobs that you could apply for online, the internet is a good resource to find, learn and get details about a specific job, the internet also shows us which companies are advertising jobs that you want and where the organisation location is so you could stop by and visit. The internet can also help you contact a specific company by the use of social media and emails, and finally it also allows employers to advertise and sell their job to the public, an example of an internet browser is Internet explorer, Google chrome and Yahoo.

Networking is a way to interact with employers over the internet or over the phone, networking has become a good way for companies to promote their business to attract more employees while at the same time helping people who are interested in the job to find out what job part would specifically suit them.
